PUBLIC LINKS. CLEAR TERMS.
This notice covers NECKWIRE’s public mention feed and its optional YouTube references.
What the feed stores
NECKWIRE stores bounded public source metadata: a title, source attribution, original URL, supplied dates and, where permitted, a short description or image URL. Editors may add their own descriptions of exceptional public links. Article bodies, transcripts, comments, and video files are not stored.
NECKWIRE has no sign-in and does not request access to a visitor’s private YouTube account or viewing history. Requests to this website and linked publishers may be handled by their hosting services.
YouTube references
Optional YouTube references use YouTube API Services. Before requesting these references, the feed asks you to agree to this notice and the YouTube Terms of Service. Using these features binds you to those terms. See also the Google Privacy Policy.
The API supplies public video titles, channel attribution, original links, publication dates, descriptions, and thumbnail URLs. Stored API metadata expires after 29 days unless it is verified again. The feed hides expired copies; scheduled maintenance deletes them. API failures or a missing key do not extend retention.
When enabled, loading a remote YouTube thumbnail or opening a YouTube link sends a browser request to Google, which can include your IP address and browser information. Videos are linked rather than embedded or downloaded. Your choice to enable API references lasts only for the current page session.
Corrections and removal
Use the correction and removal request form for a NECKWIRE listing. The public contact route is neckelrath.pages.dev/neckwire/contact.
The form collects your name or alias, reply email, the challenged listing or source URL, request type, and message. These details are stored separately from the public feed and used only to review and respond to correction or removal requests. Submissions are not public. No email notification is sent automatically.
A recorded request does not automatically change or remove a listing. NECKWIRE is an unofficial community tracker; a link does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by its publisher.
